The Legend Who Shaped Scotland

In Scottish legend, Beira, the Queen of Winter, ruled with fierce power, shaping the rugged Highlands. As winter's embodiment, she sculpted mountains and carved lochs and rivers— most notably the River Ness, where our restaurant now stands. One tale tells of Nessa, whom Beira tasked with guarding a magical well. One day, Nessa failed to cover it, causing an overflow. Enraged, Beira allowed the waters to sweep Nessa away, transforming her into the River Ness, which flows into Loch Ness.

While there are many stories about Beira, one thing remains constant: her power and the profound beauty she sculpted throughout Scotland. According to legend, Beira is not only a creator but also a force of renewal. When her strength wanes with the arrival of spring, she transforms into a stone, resting beneath the waters, waiting for the cold winds to return.

Our menu reflects this changing season, offering a culinary experience that celebrates Scotland's timeless magic—where land and sea come together in harmony. From the freshest seafood to rich flavourful meats, each dish pays tribute to the ever-changing beauty that Beira once commanded.

While you dine with us, enjoy stunning views of the River Ness and immerse yourself in the captivating legends of Beira, a powerful figure whose influence runs deep in the fabric of the Highlands.
